In this article , we will talk about cooling system of the internal compustion engines. The high working temperatures of the internal combustion engine which are the cause of its high efficiency are at the same time a source of great practical difficulty in construction and operation. No known materials are capable of enduring continuously the high temperatures to which the cylinder, piston
and valves are subjected while at the same time retaining sufficient strength to withstand the high working loads. The maximum temperature during combustion is approximately the melting
point of platinum and the temperature even of the exhaust gases is above that of aluminium. It is thus essential that heat be abstracted from the parts enumerated above at a sufficient rate to prevent a dangerous temperature being reached, for, unfortunately, it is quite impossible to prevent heat entering the metal from the hot gases.

Hello all,
ReplyDeleteWater cooling is a method of heat removal from components and industrial equipment. As opposed to air cooling, water is used as the heat conductor. It is commonly used for cooling automobile internal combustion engines and large industrial facilities such as steam electric power plants, hydroelectric generators, petroleum refineries and chemical plants. Thanks a lot.....
